The unveiling

Diving on my honeymoon

Today is the day I officially release my blog to the world! It's time I bite the bullet and get this S*** done! After all I'm not helping anyone if I stay quiet right?

So here I am, nervously opening myself up to a world of judgement with the hopes that someone, somewhere will forever change the way they see the ocean and diving. Preferably in a positive direction :)

Ironically it was 8 years ago, today that I joined Florida Underwater Sports with the goal of getting my Advanced Open Water certification. Seems fitting that I should unveil a dive blog on my diveaversary (yeah I know. That was a dumb word). Little did I know 8 years ago that I would be where I am now. Mom to the best kid, wife to an amazing husband and dive instructor at the best shop. I've always known that I loved being in the water, diving, seeing things that few others get the chance to see. But, I had no idea that diving would bring me to a place of immense satisfaction. I have made some truly amazing friendships and business relationships through diving, opened up to some unique opportunities to do something amazing for the dive community and the environment and genuinely discovered my passion. My zest for life if you will.

Do I think that everyone that reads this will feel the same? Nah. But, I do hope that I can change the way people see diving, the importance of the environment and themselves. At least in some way. And I hope that I can adequately show that diving is very accessible, very fun and anyone can do it if they really want to.

Side note: I also kind of hope that people think I'm pretty awesome :)

Happy readings my friends!

I am a mom, wife and scuba diver in Sarasota, Fl and I love to share my experience with others. I'm hoping to inspire other women and moms to take the plunge into this amazing underwater world.
